If you need a bed for a studio apartment or extra sleeping space in an already-crowded small home, a daybed might be just the thing you're looking for. Furniture is an expensive item for most budgets, and most of us need to watch what we spend. However, that still doesn't mean that you won't be able to find a perfect daybed for your situation. There are several places you can find an affordable daybed to suit your budget and your decor.
You'll find that inexpensive daybeds don't have to be poor quality. You will probably be able to find one at discount that will meet your quality standards. Start your search with a list of the features you're going to be looking for in the daybed you buy. What type of a frame do you want? What color frame are you looking for? What kind of trundle will meet your needs, or do you want one at all? These questions and more will give you a place to begin as well as stand you in good stead when you find that "perfect" daybed at a price you can't afford.
After looking at some daybeds, you may begin to feel like you were being a little over-optimistic when you made your list. At that point, you need to start re-evaluating the standards you set forth on your list. For example trade in your ideas of wanting a solid oak framework for something less expensive. Once you get it home and add some beautiful bedding, it will look great so always shop with your eyes and mind wide open.
Before setting a foot outside of your house to go look at daybeds, you should try looking online. In an attempt to expand their businesses, many stores now also have websites. While in their physical store they might be cramped for floor space, that isn't a problem online, so you'll probably find an even bigger selection online than you would in the store. You will also often find discounts offered to only those who shop online.
When you go to a furniture store, keep in mind that the items you pass in the front of the store will be the most expensive merchandise they have. The store owners are hoping that you'll see what you want and settle for buying one of these high-end items without investigating less expensive merchandise farther back in the store. You'll find the bargains towards the back of the store, so that's where you'll want to head.
If you find a floor model or a "scratch and dent" daybed, ask the store for a huge discount on the item. These damaged items are hard for stores to sell, and they might love having a buyer who's will to give them something for the item just to have the piece out of the store. It never hurts to ask, and even if they turn down your offer, they may come back with a much lower counteroffer than the original mark-down price.
Don't feel like you have to rush out and purchase something the first day you look. Finding the right daybed make take a couple of weeks of hard shopping, but it will all be worth it in the end. Since it's never good to shop for major items when you're all stressed out, relax and know that the right deal will come along.
It doesn't matter where you find your bargain daybed, when it has finally been delivered to your home, you're going to see that your effort paid off handsomely. Although it may take a little time and work, you'll be glad you looked a little in order to save a bundle!
